Franklin on Foot offers superb walking tours of historic downtown Franklin.  Guests who have traveled the world have called Franklin on Foot tours the best they've ever taken. 

Even people who think they hate history love Franklin on Foot tours.  That's because we offer a special blend of education and entertainment we like to call edutainment.  After all, the best history is just gossip that's 100 years old! 

The Classic Franklin tour is a daytime walking tour that provides a fascinating overview of the town's past by introducing you to some of the people who used to live here and explaining why some of our oldest buildings are so special.  

We also offer two different ghost tours.  The Haunted Franklin is a family-friendly tour that might even leave you feeling sorry for some of the spirits in Franklin.  The Ghosts and Gore Tour is not for kids.  We share the best of the ghost stories and combine them with tales of crime from sweet, charming Franklin's past:  rape, abortion, prostitution and murder were all common in our downtown. 

For those who have read The Widow of the South we offer a combination ticket that provides both the downtown Franklin walking tour and admission to Carnton Plantation.  The tour helps to separate the fact from the fiction and introduces you to some of the real people who were the inspiration for the characters in the novel. 

Ghost Tours are available nightly at 8:00 p.m.

Classic Franklin tour is offered Monday through Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Reservations are essential for all tours.

Other times may be available by request.  We are also eager to tailor a tour to your group's interests and at your convenience.
